Abstract
[EN] Alcoholic liver cirrhosis is a leading cause of end stage liver disease and the second most common indication for liver transplantation around the world. Liver transplantation was offered to alcoholic patients only rarely before 1983. The main reasons for denying liver transplantation to these patients were uncertainties about the outcome and concern for alcohol relapse.
