Nuestro deber ético con el dolor del paciente

Abstract

Hoy en día todos los países y regiones cuentan con estrategias y tienen establecidas políticas sanitarias orientadas a reconocer y proteger los derechos éticos y sociales del paciente que sufre dolor (independientemente del tipo de dolor que padezca), con el fin de evitar los perjuicios que pudiesen dar lugar a la hora de valorar este síntoma clínico en cualquier ámbito asistencial. Es un hecho que las instituciones asistenciales, tanto sanitarias como socio-sanitarias, y todos los profesionales sanitarios que en ellas trabajan, tienen la obligación y son responsables de su cumplimiento, si así lo tiene normalizado o protocolizado la institución o el sistema sanitario de salud. Algunos estudios reflejan lo importante que es evaluar y registrar el dolor en su justa medida, pero también queda mucho por implementar e interiorizar su estandarización y comprensión; así como, mejorar los instrumentos de medida, formarse en su aprendizaje e investigar sobre el tema, para hacer que el proceso sea más efectivo

Nowadays, all countries and regions have strategies and have established sanitary policies aimed at recognizing and protecting the ethical and social rights of the patient who suffers pain (regardless of the type of pain suffered), in order to avoid the damages that could give rise to the time to assess this clinical symptom in any healthcare setting. It is a fact that health care institutions, both health and socio-health, and all health professionals who work in them, have an obligation and are responsible for compliance, if it has standardized or protocolized the institution or the health system of health . Some studies reflect the importance of assessing and recording pain in its proper measure, but there is also much to implement and internalize its standardization and understanding; as well as, improve measurement instruments, be trained in their learning and research on the subject, to make the process more effective.
