dc.description.abstractWe present the clinical case of a patient with a volar dislocation of the metacarpophalangeal joint (MCP) of the thumb in the left hand. The severe associated joint instability resulting from the rupture of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) and soft tissue interposition required an open reduction. For surgical revision, we used the WALANT technique, an anesthetic technique for upper limb surgeries showing significant advantages over the usual techniques.
